  1. Lovely, clean cottage overlooking the Ribble. More spacious than it appears in photos. Excellent location for walking in the Dales and handy for Settle’s amenities. Lovely pubs in easy walking distance and beautiful views around.

  2. This is our sixth year at this lovely cottage – this year from 10th – 17th July 2020. In spite of current circumstances, we have had our usual wonderful time, with our exemplary hosts Mark and Debbie, for whom nothing is too much trouble. If your ‘get up and go’ has ‘got up and gone’, do not hesitate to come to this beautiful place, and enjoy this lovely house. Quite a few places were preparing for visitors as we left, but many were already open, and very welcoming too. We cannot recommend it highly enough – there is truly something for everyone.

  3. Excellent holiday in July 2020. The cottage was much larger than expected. Very comfortable. Mark was very helpful and accommodating.

  4. Marks Cottage is a hidden gem. This was our first time staying at the house, but will definately not be out last! The cottage exceeds all expectations – it is spacious and very comfortable with everything that you need for a great week in the Yorkshire Dales.
We stayed during the week following Storms Ciara and Dennis and so had a very wet week! However, we did get out walking and were very grateful for the “Drying room” in the cellar, and the coal fire in the evenings. Settle has a good array of shops and cafes and the pubs were perfect for an evening meal.
Thanks again to Mark for a wonderful welcome, and we will be back again soon.

  5. Just got back from the Christmas week at no. 5 . We had a really great time. Its a lovely solid spacious house & in the most ideal location on the river between Settle & Giggleswick. Plenty of running, walking during the day. Plenty of re-fueling in the evenings too in Settles mini array of good real ale pubs. it was a real home from home …in a word idyllic.

  6. Our 6th time at Ribble Terrace. We love this cottage and the area, the owner, Mark is always the perfect host and provided milk and biscuits on our arrival. In November the weather can be unpredictable but it is always lovely to get back to the cottage and spend the evening sitting in front of a real fire. There are brilliant walks from the doorstep and we went a bit further afield this year and climbed Pendle Hill in the Forest of Bowland. We thoroughly recommend this cottage for a relaxing holiday.
